The quality of our products is guaranteed by constant commitment in all stages of the process, which we take care of personally. Both in the vineyard and in the winery, we try and reduce to the utmost the use of synthetic chemical products, as required by integrated production rules, so as to provide consumers with a wholesome and top-quality product. Minimum amounts of sulphite are used during vinification; these are mixed and supplemented by alternative products of natural origin.
As regards the environmental sustainability of our job, for some time now we have adopted a number of solutions such as:
• recycling of returnable bottles;
• elimination of chemical weed-killers, replaced by mechanical tilling;
• use of a co-generation plant for the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, with reduced CO2 emissions;
• use of decision support systems (DSS) to best assess pesticide treatment schedules and procedures;
• reduction of chemical fertilisation in favour of organic fertilisation;
• elimination of plastic packaging in shipments;
• re-use of vinification by-products as organic soil improver;
• reduction of chemical detergents in favour of physical treatments for winery hygiene
